    went to number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 pop singles
    chart for the week of December 28, 1959, making it the last
    number one single of the 1950s. The song was written by
    Avalon's manager and record producer Robert "Bob" Marcucci and
    Peter De Angelis. This was Avalon's second and final number-one
    hit.
    Anthony Newley covered the song in 1960, and his version
    went to #1 on the UK charts. Donny Osmond recorded the song in
    1972. It was released as a single and peaked at #13 on the
    Billboard Hot 100.
